Telephone Interpretation Services
If you receive a call from a person who does not speak English, place the caller on hold, saying, "Please wait for an interpreter."(We can provide your staff with this phrase or others in the languages you need.)
We can also provide voice prompts for your auto-attendant, so you can route calls through your system by language. Non-English calls can be routed directly to 1-800-Translate, or by calling 1-800-872-6752 (+1-212-818-1102 internationally).
The auto-attendant will ask you to press the Star key (*), then to enter your access code. You will then be connected to a 1-800-Translate operator who will assign an interpreter. Please provide the dispatcher with the following information:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your access code
- The language you need (If you are unsure of the caller's language, the operator may be able to help you.)
- Any special billing information, such as department, or division code
The dispatcher will then bring your interpreter into the call. Call customer service during normal business hours for any special requirements.
